Goddard Lab

Visual neuroscience lab in the School of Psychology, UNSW, Sydney, Australia

Colour Vision

Our rich experience of colour is based on the different response profiles of three cone types in the retina. How does the brain process these inputs to give us our experience of colour?
How do we recognise constant surface colours under changing lighting conditions? How do memory and attention change how these colour are represented by the brain?

Neuroimaging

We use both functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) to measure brain responses while participants are viewing visual stimuli and/or performing a task. We use a range of sophisticated data analysis methods, including approaches from machine learning, to better understand brain function.
